CYA 16U Morgan Crane commits to Northeastern

The CYA 16U's are proud to announce that Morgan Crane will join team mate Maddie Hartman at Northeastern University for the 2015 season. Crane is going to bring strength and toughness to the Huskies. She has been one of the toughest Forwards to play against at the 16U level. Her size, strength and shot have been a lethal combination for both defenders and tenders all around the country. Crane currently sits 2nd on the team with 29pts in 29 games played.
“Morgan's commitment, dedication and work ethic has been tremendous and she is only going to get better at the next level" said Girls Director John Cimba. "She isn't afraid to make the kinds of sacrifices a D1 power forward makes. I am very happy for Morgan and the entire Crane family and thank them for not only their dedication to CYA, but also for their dedication to the game".

Christian Fischer ......University of Notre Dame

The Chicago Mission would like to congratulate 16U Forward, Christian Fischer, on his verbal commitment with the University of Notre Dame.  Christian entered his sixth season with the Mission as a very highly touted forward at the 1997 age level and has lived up to the expectations thus far.  “Christian is an all around, complete hockey player with his size and strength allowing him to be a physical force on the ice, while his skill set and vision allow him to be a creative and offensive threat every time he’s on the ice. Christian is a student of the game and takes pride in what he does every single day on and off the ice.  His approach and respect for the game has allowed him to mature and develop at a very rapid pace and that’s a big reason he was so sought after by many high-end Universities.  He’s a terrific young man whose future is very, very bright and it’ll definitely be fun watching his development over the next few years” said 16U Head Coach Chris Michael. Congratulations to Christian and the Fischer Family.
Hannah Zarzecki ......Commits to Harvard

Mission 19U forward Hannah Zarzecki recently committed and was accepted to Harvard . Hannah is a Mission kid in the true sense of the word . No one works harder , no one competes more and no one loves the game as much . We were thrilled when she decided to join our program and we are so excited that she will be attending Harvard . Hannah is a well rounded person and an excellent student we are 100% confident that she will be successful at Harvard on and off the ice .... Congratulations to Hannah and the entire Zarzecki family !

For five members of the Honeybaked 19U girls’ team, signing a piece of paper means that hockey will continue for the next four years.

Andie Anastos, Demi Crossman, Haley McLean, Kirsten Padalis and Lexie Shaw all signed their National Letters of Intent last week, committing to four different Division-1 college hockey programs across the country.

Anastos and McLean will join Boston College for the 2013-14 season, while Crossman will join Minnesota-Duluth, Padalis will join St. Lawerence, and Shaw will join North Dakota.

Letter of Intent

Andie Anstos – Boston College

Demi Crossman – Minnesota Duluth

Haley McLean – Boston College

Kristen Padalis – St. Lawerence

Lexie Shaw – North Dakota

The holiday season is quickly approaching! And what a wonderful opportunity for us to give back! It is truly a magical time, especially for children, and no child should go without a present on Christmas.
Last year around this time, the Team Illinois 98's initiated their inaugural toy drive as part of the TI 98's Give Back Campaign.
This year, TI invited the Mission 98 players and families to participate in the event. Each player brought an unwrapped toy to the game at Seven Bridges on Saturday, November 17th for the "Team Illinois/Mission 98 Toys for Tots" toy drive. The teams collected over 60 toys in hopes to spread a little holiday cheer to those kids less fortunate.

Mission 16U Boys commitments keep mounting

Two more players from the Mission 16U team make commitments bringing the total to 6. Bobby Nardella (96) makes verbal commitment to Notre Dame and Peter Tischke (96) makes verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin. Bobby will again be a teammate with Anders Bjork, while Peter Tischke will be joining fellow teammates Seamus Malone and Jake Linhart. Nick Schmaltz is headed to North Dakota.

CYA's EMMA VLASIC RECEIVES VERBAL COMMITMENT FROM YALE UNIVERSITY

CYA is very proud to announce that 16U forward Emma Vlasic, has received a verbal commit from Yale University. Emma is a 4 year CYA player who, finished the 2011-12 season with a 42-32-74 Line in 51 games. Emma is now the second player from the 16U team to receive a commitment.

Emma's commitment to the game along with her work ethic, character and respect for the her teammates and  coaches will continue to bring her great success.

Three players from the 19U Honeybaked Girls team have been selected to USA Hockey’s Under-18 team. The team will compete in a three-game series against Canada, August 16-19 at the National Sports Center's Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.

Lexi Shaw of Troy, MI is one of two goalies selected to the squad. Lexi is entering her senior year at Farmington Hills Mercy High School, and has committed to the University of North Dakota for the fall of 2013. This is Lexi’s 3rd year with the Honeybaked program, and she helped backstop the 16U team to the 2011 National Championship.

Lexi will receive plenty of help from Kirsten Padalis, who will lead the defense corps for Team USA. Kirsten is a native of Farmington Hills, MI, and is also entering her senior year at Mercy High School. The Honeybaked veteran was also a key part of the 16U National Championship, and in the fall of 2013, Kirsten will be taking her talents to St. Lawrence University.

Up front, Honeybaked is well-represented by Andie Anastos. Andie is also a Farmington Hills native and a long time Honeybaked veteran, who also played a key role on the 2011 16U team. Andie is entering her senior year at Livonia Ladywood High School, and in the fall of 2013 will head to Chestnut Hill, MA and join the Boston College Eagles.

Congratulations to Lexi, Kirsten, and Andie, and best of luck in the coming days against Canada. The Honeybaked Hockey Club and the High Performance Hockey League are both very proud of your achievement, and look forward to more success in the coming years.
